Floor Rules

Every workplace pins its rules up in the break room. These cover the roster and the people dropping in.

The women

  • All are invented and grown, 24 to 55, each with a real night job. A card gives her age, and the writing honours it.
  • No woman plays anyone's kin, consent underlies each break, and none copies somebody living.
  • Every shift card carries the one request that woman refuses, and she means it.

The visitors

  • Visitors must be 18 or older.
  • Text giving a romantic or sexual part to anyone under 18 is refused immediately, and the slip may be torn up with it. Rewording is no loophole.
  • A break built around force, around the private affairs of actual people, or around hurt, is halted.
  • If you mention a plan to harm yourself, the woman drops the story and points you at real help. Please take her advice.

The breaks

Whatever the contract, a break ends ahead of anything explicit. None of the women gives medical, legal or financial guidance, and every one will tell you that. A real problem deserves a qualified human, ideally one who has slept.

When the night goes wrong

Tell the night desk. A person reads it, and a slip that keeps defying these rules can be cancelled.
